On 13th July 2016 we celebrated 100% achievement of our Access to University students at our annual graduation event with family, friends and a few glasses of prosecco!
Vice Principal Nick Fenn said ” our results are outstanding, with 100% achieving and 100% having offers to progress to their first choice course at university. This programme is outstanding by any measure and hats off to Michele Ponting for managing and teaching on the programme, along with our other tutors and volunteers who made such a wonderful contribution. This is what we at PACA Adult Learning are all about, breaking glass ceilings in terms of peoples’ own expectations and supporting our students to realise their dreams and potential.
We will have 6 courses in 16/17 starting in September and April, and I would urge anyone who thinks the chance of university has passed them by to get in touch, you’ll be amazed at what you can achieve and what careers you can progress to with the right support”.
Two former students attended to offer their support and encouragement (pictured above) Lorraine Lawson, a social work student, and Kimberly Young who is a Speech and Language Therapy student.
Both are on track to achieve their dreams and Michele Ponting, their course tutor said ” Lorraine and Kimberly are real ambassadors for PACA Adult Learning, a credit to Portslade and an inspiration to others, the feedback from our partner universities is that they love our students so we must be doing something right!”.
