Computing for all

In the first 5 weeks we will work with you to build your confidence and skills, whatever your starting point.  In the second half of the course you will work on a project brief designed to develop the skills you have told us you want to develop so you have the opportunity to practice and quickly learn the skills you need.

Computing for ESOL

These intensive courses are for non-native speakers of English.  You will also get help to improve your English language skills so you can develop your computing skills fully.

English Foundation Skills Level 1/2

You will develop skills in reading, writing and speaking and listening, along with study skills you need to succeed in your further studies. You will also develop your confidence and employability skills to improve your work prospects to find work in the future. Students who successfully complete this course may progress onto Functional Skills in the Spring term. A good level of spoken English is required. Entry is by college based assessment. Learners who are not ready for this programme will be referred to other programmes.

English Foundation Skills Entry3/Level 1

This course is designed to help you to develop your English skills in order to achieve a Functional Skills qualification at Entry 3 or Level 1. These qualifications are needed for many jobs, apprenticeships and university courses. You will study modules in reading, writing and speaking and listening and you will take formal assessments in all 3 components. This is an ideal course to do before progressing on to higher levels of Functional Skills.  Entry requirements: completion of Foundation Skills English or by college based assessment.

This course is designed to help you to develop your English skills in order to achieve a Functional Skills qualification at Level 1 or Level 2. ESOL Entry 1 – Speaking and Listening

Whether you want to find a job or just talk with people around you, our ESOL courses will give you the reading, writing, and speaking and listening skills you need. You will develop your confidence and skills at your own speed in lively and friendly classes and the first term will give you the chance to get a recognised qualification in speaking and listening.

ESOL Entry 3 – Speaking and Listening

Whether you want to find a job or just talk with people around you, our ESOL courses will give you the reading, writing, speaking and listening skills yo need. You will develop your confidence and skills at your own speed in lively and friendly classes and the first term will give you the chance to get a recognised qualification in speaking and listening.

ESOL Level 2 Reading

This course is suitable for students who need to develope basic literacy skills before joining an ESOL class leading to a qualification.  The course will be flexible to meet individual needs.
