Access courses are a great way for Adults who perhaps didn’t achieve their academic potential first time or might not have what they think are the right qualifications such as A levels to make their dream of university a reality. Come and talk to us: we have many students – who never thought they could – who have progressed to University.
Last year we had 44 students of our Access to University Students progress to University studying a whole range of degrees from Social care to Midwifery – that’s a 100% progression rate. Laser, the awarding body that allows us to run our Access courses believes we have an ‘outstanding’ offer. The courses happen at our Foredown Tower site and all who go there feel it has a very special and unique ambience for learning – quite unlike any school or college atmosphere you may have experienced. Students say the course is “Outstanding,” and “I feel that I have learnt the skills that I need to go to University,” and “I am very confident with essays.” What’s more, if you successfully complete a degree afterwards you don’t have to pay a penny!
We have Access to Health and Social Care starting 27/04/17 along with 2 more access courses starting in September, including Access to Social Science. If you feel you might need a ‘bridge’ before starting your access course you can join our Pre-Access to University preparation course from 3/2/17 which will get you ready to start in September 2017.
