    TEACHING AND LEARNING METHODS

Teaching of Yin Yoga is very different from Teaching other forms of yoga. I will guide the students into postures and then leave them to hold for at least 3 to 5 minutes – this is the time necessary to work into the deeper tissues. While in the postures, I will select reading material to aid reflection.

    COURSE LEVEL/ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

This course is opened to everyone who would like to try a different style of yoga. It is deeply meditative, so it is indicated for those who need to relax and find some time to slow down.

HOW PROGRESS IS CHECKED DURING COURSE

I will observe students, their needs and possible difficulties, so that we can work through them together to build a steady mind and body progress, without competition and in a welcoming environment

EXTRA STUDY OR PRACTICE REQUIRED AT HOME

Students can practice part of the sequences at home, I can provide a list of asanas that might be nice to practice in between classes, even for 10 minutes a day – preferably in the evening. It does not take much to progress, and a few minutes every day are a great way to start.

MATERIALS YOU WILL NEED TO BRING TO THE COURSE

Students will need a yoga mat, one or two foam blocks and possibly a blanket. They will also need to wear comfortable, warm clothes.

    WHAT CAN I DO NEXT?

    Continue yoga Terms 2 & 3.
