  • Differences between SER and ESTAR.

  • COURSE CONTENT

    • Talk about your likes and dislikes: pastimes, activities, food
    • Talk about where you live and give your opinions
    • Differences between SER and ESTAR
    • Invite friends out somewhere and accepting or refusing invitations
    • Arrange to go out to the cinema, asking about times, buying tickets
    • Describing different types of film
    • Give your opinions about films


    TEACHING AND LEARNING METHODS

    The emphasis is on learning through communication, though grammar points will also be taught as appropriate.

    Teaching will be done through whole class work, individual work and small group and pair work.

    Methods of learning include role play, listening activities, games, music and interactive activities.


    COURSE LEVEL/ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

    This course is suitable for those who have already done the beginners level and possess a basic knowledge of the language.


    HOW PROGRESS IS CHECKED DURING COURSE

    Progress is checked throughout the course by regular question and answer sessions in class, feedback, and the marking and assessing of homework.

    There is no formal accreditation for this course, but a certificate of attendance may be issued at the end of the course for those who wish it.


    EXTRA STUDY OR PRACTICE REQUIRED AT HOME

    You will make greater progress if you do at least one hour’s study at home in between the classes!


    MATERIALS YOU WILL NEED TO BRING TO THE COURSE

    We will be using PASOS book 1 (Student book) for this course. This book also comes with a CD. These items may sometimes be found in secondhand bookshops.

    There will be a follow-on course at PACA in January. You will be able to discuss this with your tutor.
