This course is designed to help you to develop your numeracy skills and apply them in real life situations, including the world of work, and you will also develop the study skills you need to succees in your further studies. Students that pass Functional Skills Maths Level 2 in November can transfer to GCSE in January of the same academic year.
Learners who pass Level 2 later in the year are automatically offered a place on GCSE the following academic year.
The course is for anyone wanting to improve their maths skills. You will be able to develop a wide range of mathematical understanding including number, algebra, shape, measure, handling data and probability.
You will have the opportunity to pass a Functional Skills qualification at an appropriate level dependent on your starting point.
Learners can also progress through more than one level through the course of the academic year if they wish.
Attendance at the first hour and a half of the lesson is compulsory but the final hour you can either stay and practise your skills or do this at home. These skills are developed by watching videos and then by practising what you have learnt. This work is closely monitored by the tutor whether you do it at home or stay for the last hour.ENROL NOW
