Come along and make unique Christmas wreaths to impress your friends and give away as gifts. You will learn how to make three different styles of wreath using textiles, haberdashery, beads and natural materials. Wreath frames will be supplied at cost price.

Come along and make unique Christmas wreaths to impress your friends and give away as gifts. You will learn how to make three different styles of wreath using textiles, haberdashery, beads and natural materials. Wreath frames will be supplied at cost price.

COURSE AIMS/OBJECTIVES

  • Make three different types of wreath.
  • Make bows and floral decorations from ribbons & fabric.
  • Attach sequins, pine cones, beads and other decorative items to a wreath.
  • Coordinate colours, fabrics and materials.
  • Create your own designs.
  • COURSE CONTENT

    Come along and make unique Christmas wreaths to impress your friends and give away as gifts. You will learn how to make three different styles of wreath using textiles, haberdashery, beads and natural materials. Wreath frames will be supplied at cost price.


    TEACHING AND LEARNING METHODS

    Sample wreaths will be present for students to refer to for guidance and inspiration.
    Group and one to one practical demonstrations.
    Students will be encouraged to swap materials and discuss with each other.


    COURSE LEVEL/ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

    None.


    HOW PROGRESS IS CHECKED DURING COURSE

    Observation of students work.
    One to one conversation.
    Ask students if they have any problems or questions


    EXTRA STUDY OR PRACTICE REQUIRED AT HOME

    None.


    MATERIALS YOU WILL NEED TO BRING TO THE COURSE

    Fabric: A selection of fabrics in festive colours e.g red, gold, green – or whatever colours you wish to use. A mixture of plain and printed fabrics is good. You will need 6 different fabrics and at least 0.5m of each.

    Ribbons: Four different types of ribbon between 1 & 1.5 inches wide. You will need 4metres of each.

    Habberdashery: A selection of habberdashery such as buttons, beads & sequins in different sizes. Scissors for cutting fabric 25g pack of Sequin & bead pins (16×0.65mm)
