The workshop will cover important and useful SEO (search engine optimisation) activities that can be done by business owners who have websites. The course is for business owners who have websites and company employees who hold a marketing or IT role and are responsible for their company website.

COURSE AIMS/OBJECTIVES

  • Have an understanding of what search engine optimisation is and how it works
  • Develop an understanding of key word research and why it's important
  • Be able to recognise the difference between on-site and off-site SEO
  • Be able to carry out a number of the on-site and off-site SEO activities
  • Develop an understanding of the importance of Google analytics and how it informs digital marketing
  • Be able to set up Google Search Console and Google My Business

    Presentation with slides
    Q & A
    Hands-on help to get started, if required

    TEACHING AND LEARNING METHODS

    The approach will be collaborative with participants sharing experiences and knowledge. Teaching will be facilitative building on your current levels of knowledge. The main input will be via a powerpoint presentaiton which will be available after the course.


    COURSE LEVEL/ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

    No prior knowledge is required.


    HOW PROGRESS IS CHECKED DURING COURSE

    This will be checked continuously throughout the workshop with regular plenaries.


    EXTRA STUDY OR PRACTICE REQUIRED AT HOME

    There will be a post-class action planning activity.


    MATERIALS YOU WILL NEED TO BRING TO THE COURSE

    If learners would like to bring their laptop, they are most welcome to do so. There will be wi-fi available. If they would like to participate in the hands-on help to get started at the end of the workshop, then a laptop would be helpful.

    • Hi, I’m wondering if this will be good for me. I freely help with a golf club website. We use Dreamweaver mainly on a Windows/MSSQL platform. Would we benefit from this course?
