Early Years Educator

The Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) prepares learners to become Early Years Educators, enabling them to work with and care for children from birth to 5 years and gain knowledge of children aged 5 to 7 years. Upon achievement of this qualification it is intended that learners will be able to enter the workforce as Early Years Educators. Learners will need to be working, volunteering or on a practical placement as an important part of the assessment process involves evaluating skills in real working situations.

    • Theme 1: Health and well-being
    • Theme 2: Legislation, frameworks and professional practice
    • Theme 3: Play, development and learning for school readiness
    • Theme 4: Professional development


    TEACHING AND LEARNING METHODS

    You will complete a portfolio of work as you are guided by your assessor at your workplace. You will be required to do research, case studies and a longitudinal study as well as assignments and analysing work products.


    COURSE LEVEL/ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

    You are required to be working in a setting with children and babies under 5. You will need to show that you have or will have Maths and English to level 2.


    HOW PROGRESS IS CHECKED DURING COURSE

    Your portfolio will be interanlly and externally moderated to ensure consistency.


    EXTRA STUDY OR PRACTICE REQUIRED AT HOME

    You will be required to complete work at home as directed by your tutor/assessor.


    MATERIALS YOU WILL NEED TO BRING TO THE COURSE

    You will require a leaver arch file, polypockets and file dividers.
