COURSE AIMS/OBJECTIVES

  • Use experiences and observations as a starting point for your writing
  • Practice sharing your work and receiving feedback.
  • COURSE CONTENT

    Local writer Rachel Shorer thinks there’s something a bit magical about poetry. In this one day course she explores how poetry reaches places other words can’t. You’ll write different kinds of poems, read poetry and share your work with others. As a group of writers you’ll support and encourage each other. Suitable for those who haven’t read or written a poem since they were in school, those who already love reading and writing poetry, and everyone in between.

    Receiving written feedback on your work from your peers.

    Giving written feedback on your peers’ work.

    COURSE LEVEL/ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

    No previous experience of creative writing is needed. You should feel comfortable learning independently, participating in online discussions and sharing your opinions on people’s writing.


    HOW PROGRESS IS CHECKED DURING COURSE

    You will share your writing weekly and receive feedback from your peers and from the course tutor


    EXTRA STUDY OR PRACTICE REQUIRED AT HOME

    Participating in this course will take around two to two and a half hours per week.
